there
is
nothing
sadder
than
a
dead
dog
on
the
side
of
the
road
……………………………………………………..
she said
you
think
that silly,
stupid grin
makes you bulletproof,
don’t you?
then,
just to be
a
bitch,
she went
and proved him
wrong.
………………………………………………………………………………….
if
you
want
your poems
to
be
real…
live them.
don’t
write
them.
………………………………………………………………………………………..
at the doctor’s today,
one of the nurses
wanted to
meet
me.
she said she
had all my
books,
which had to be
a lie, but it
was okay,
because she was pretty
and didn’t laugh
when the
doctor
had me take off my shirt,
drop my pants
and cough.
……………………………………………………………………………….
when
it
came
to
him,
she
always
knew
that much
was
never
more.
