Impressions
This time last week I was enjoying the extraordinary hospitality of Fahredin B. Shehu & his team, and the town of Rahovec in Kosovo which hosts the International Poetry Festival. The weather was glorious, the poetry and wine were flowing, and new friendships were forming as poets from Albania, Japan, Jordan, Macedonia, New York, Israel, Bosnia Herzegovina, Slovenia, Denmark, Italy, Kosovo and Ireland got to know each other and our work. In between poetry readings we visited the award winning local winery, the historical city of Prizren and spent many hours just soaking up the wonderful atmosphere. What a privilege it was to be there. Special thanks to Culture Ireland for their grant which covered my travel costs. Thanks too to the talented photographer Rromir Imami for taking our photos!
