Fahredin Shehu is an Albanian-Kosovan poet, festival organizer and literary translator, living in Rahovec.
In this fascinating interview, he discusses becoming a poet during the breakup of the former Yugoslavia, his Sufi lineage and practice, the process of healing, and the strong relation between his literary and spiritual path. He speaks of his extreme frustration traveling as a resident of Kosovo, leading to his founding the annual Kosovo International Poetry Festival – now in its fifth year – and he shares with us several of his poems, in Albanian and English.
